My hard working mentor has his machine back up and running after 2
nights and yesterday at it, and when I say nights I mean 10-12 hour
nights and just about the same for day hours.

Anyway we beavered away this afternoon, with both Dereks and
Ronalds suggestions, and on discovering that it
worked for a new user we decided to delete from /.kde/share/config the
kscdrc file, so once more I can play cd's.

Now down to the reason for this foulup in the first place, how do I
overcome the problem of cd's skipping. Anyone with ideas??
