KSCD can play CDs in 2 ways. It can read the tracks using the digital IDE interface just like it does when reading data, or else it can read through the analogue interface directly through your sound card just like an ordinary CD player. Using the analogue interface the CD will not skip. There is a check box in the kscd set up to enable/disable the digital IDE interface. I thing the option is called something like "Play the CD directly" Depending on what version of KDE you are running you may find the option in KDE Control Centre>Sound>Audio CDs When using the analogue interface you will need an analogue cable from the CD drive to your sound card. Many PC manufacturers do not bother fitting this cable because Windows always uses the IDE interface to play CDs derek -- www.jennings.homelinux.net ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
