Finally tried uninstalling lame, and reinstalling it. This (somehow) got audiocd in Konq to do mp3's. Nice. I was trying to find a very easy way to rip mp3's, for one of the people I set up with Mandriva. She needs it to be simple, and this konq solution seems good for her. [So far, she likes MD better than windows. :-)] BUT - tried to play an mp3 with xmms, and it immediately exited. The mp3 plays OK in amarok, so it seems to be a good file. Streamtuner works ok using xmms to process the music - it just won't play mp3's. She listens a lot using streamtuner, and I was trying to stick with xmms for everything, if possible. A bit of searching indicates that one should use xmms-mp3 instead of just plain xmms, but I don't see an xmms-mp3 for 2006, even with plf sources. I thought xmms was supposed to play mp3's as-is. How do I get xmms to play mp3's? -- Thanks, rikona mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________ Want to buy your Pack or Services from Mandriva?
