Actually, the screensaver is working again (I restarted the xscreensaver
daemon), so I'll leave acpi off for awhile and see if doesn't cure the 'X
chewing up CPU' problem (like it's a huge problem...log out, log back in ;-))

I remember back when 2006 first came out, I saw a lot of posts like this. Why
would acpi be installed by default on a desktop system, when in MCC it even
states quite clearly that this is for laptops??
