It is installed on the boxes, and does not seem to appear as a
service. I think that was one of the 147 things I tried to get it
working. :-))

In some cases, I can't even get another W2k box to print either, so it
does not seem to be a unix problem exclusively. I'm fairly cautious
about security, and it may have something to do with the
security/access settings. This may be why the networked printers are
easier - nothing there but a printer.

Thanks for the possible fix, though - it was a good idea!!
