Hmmmm, actually, prior to cedega, I had Halflife and MOHAA running very well
under WineX 3.

It was when they switched to 'Cedega', with the stupid and confusing 'user
interface' that I began to have trouble. Finally just did everything from the
command line, and it worked out ok.

That's when I decided I would actually pay for it, instead of just snagging it
off of Bittorrent (yes, you can get the engine and all updates, but you didn't
hear it from me).

Well, this time being a dumbass only cost me $15, so I'm not that put out by
it. Besides, from what I've seen Googling around about this, Cedega seems to
be gradually losing...uh...'Steam'! LOL! Their engine releases apparently have
been slowing down for some time now.

Difficulty can have it's rewards...like learning, and the possibility, however
remote, that you can get it running without installing malware on your box ;)

I'm holdin' out hope that sometime I'll post 'Eureka!! It's working!', and do a
little dance, scaring the neighbours more than they already are.

I'm gettin' a bit closer every time I have a go at this (see my response to
Ronald).

I really love Halflife (playing through it again right now, actually, for the
billionth time...I just love that Magnum (is that a Python?) :D So I really
would like to try this out.

Anyway, we'll see how this goes, someday I'll get to play it.

I will not give in to the Borg! ...even though *technically* I *am* using their
'technology', DirectX, bleh ;)
