This install is from the live CD Mandriva One 2007 which was
downloaded
from the Internet as a try before buy from the Mandriva site. If
anyone
has any more ideals I sure could use some help. Failing that if
someone
could tell me how to uninstall Mandriva so I could use this machine as
simply an XP system I will build another computer and install
Mandriva

Error #21 as per the grub website
21 : Selected disk does not exist
This error is returned if the device part of a device- or full
file name refers to a disk or BIOS device that is not present or
not recognized by the BIOS in the system.
You are trying to boot from a partition/disk that does not exist.
Could you please post the contents of /boot/grub/menu.lst?
What boot order is your BIOS set to?
There is no need to reinstall for this error. Just boot into the
Mandriva CD, at the first prompt type rescue and you can reinstall the
bootloader from there. I have good luck with the rescue feature of
Mandriva CDs.
