Since we're not completely free of Windoz what do people think of Win4Lin or the other ways to run Doz programs? Thanks for the help.
what do you mean completely free of "windows" and "dos" programs come on, there is a difference between "dos" programs
and "windows" programs.
If you still need to run "dos" programs put a small 20 mb section on your hard drive or boot from a floppy. the tools
are very limited. If you have an older application needing "dos" then create a partition with the needed room.
As far as "windows" applications go, just make a "windows" partition as well. You can then dual boot when the time comes up.
If you can afford it, use two separate machines. Most the emulators I have seen are not worth the trouble. and you will not
be able to run all programs. If you are installing a Linux OS to run Windows applications it is not worth it. In the end it can be
a real headache. Depending on the "windows" version you run just make a partition that is going to work, and then install Linux
it will create the dual boot, you have to go through a little more trouble if you want to do it with 2K pro, but its still really easy.
go here for that

That will walk you through the steps on setting up the dual boot with 2k pro.
the other way is to boot Linux from within windows. I am not sold on any emulators at all.
