RH (I assume you have that, I did not follow the thread closely) installs both 3.3.6 
and 4.x.x and
give you both XF86Config for 3.3.6 and XF86Config-4 for 4.x.x. This trips a lot of 
people (I also
got confused some time ago editing the wrong file...)
