I am presently using RH 7.2 with 2 monitors and did not have too many
problems. I didn't use XFree86 - configure but just let the RH install do
what it wanted. Then I edited XF86Config-4 to allow for the 2 monitors.
(Just in case you don't know RH7.2 defaults to XF86 4.1.0 and so you edit
XF86Config-4 NOT XF86Config)

I'm not sure if you want to get a xinerama setup going or just 2 monitors
that you can use (I use the latter) but there are several howtos available
that I used to get it going. Try the XF86 site or search on Google and use
'dual head' or 'xinerama' and you should find plenty of help.
