I've just installed Redhat 7.2 and trying to start
X via XFree 4.1.0 on an old machine
(586 @ 120mHZ) with a Number Nine I128 video card
w/ 2 MB memory.
I can't get past the "Addscreen/ScreenInit failed
for drive 0" message when I startx.
I've spent 30-40 hours over the past week doing
research on the web and in books
and I just don't know what next to look at.
My monitor is an Infotel SRC1501. It's not in the
config list during setup but I've
tried literally dozens of generic, customized
combinations of VGA and SVGA rates.
The attachment is my log from the startx. I hope
there is a clue in it.
Can anyone help in pointing me in the right
direction please. Thanks.
