This is what bit me, I have been running linux boxes for years, I had some money to through at a 'monster' box so I looked around at what was supported. I have been running happily ATI cards sence way back when I was running OS/2 1.0 and fidonet, when I saw the ATI Radeon was supported by Xfree, I made my choice. The problem here is I am used to fooling around with hardware and installs (if you've ever installed OS/2 you know what I mean), but for a newbie, this would certinly 'prove' linux to be no better then 'windoze'. I think we as a community need to police ourselves a little better and make SURE if we say hardware is supported, it can be installed by a newbie. Sorry for the rant...
