Theres been discussions about failing to get an X session as a non super
user. I read them all and tried most presented solutions but am still having
problems...wether xdm or startx directly, when a non-root user attempts to
run startx, or log in from xdm (even if xdm was launched by root) it
fails.....I have looked at the Xfree log files and see that a user attemp
and a root attempt report virtually identical logs...the only difference is
at the end where the user fails (attached below)..notice the difference in
the last couple of lines....can anyone speculate as to what the problem is.

I am using the vesa driver as I could not get the trident driver to work
with my CyberBlade XP card...could that be part of the problem?
