I tend to agree with Lionel, I did not have a good Mandrake experience giving up on it for RH7.2 but your mileage may vary. Try this link http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/newbie/2001-June/008157.html, that's what I used for info on how to set up XF86Config-4. Now that I think about it, after I reinstalled RH from scratch (I'm still learning) I had a similar problem. (it would try to boot, flash both screens and do it again). I was at a loss but looking back in my notes what got me going again was installing XF 4.2 . Whether it did anything or not is up for grabs, it's what got me going again.
What I would do is set up the first card and then manually edit the XF86Config-4 file. In that file, you need two of everything to make the thing work. That is to say 2 monitor sections, 2 device sections, 2 screen sections and a server layout section that shows both screens. Follow the above and it should work.
