Hello all,

Has anyone had a problem with XFree86 4.2.0 not being able to find the library files
for Glide?

When I run XFree86 -configure I get the following output:

>>>>> Could not load the shared library file for Glide: "libglide2x.so"!

You need to have Glide installed to run the glide driver for XFree86.
Also, you need to tell XFree86 where the libglide2x.so file is placed
by making a soft link in the /usr/X11R6/lib/modules directory that points
to the libglide2x.so file. For example (if your libglide2x.so file is in
/usr/lib):

  # ln -s /usr/lib/libglide2x.so /usr/X11R6/lib/modules

(EE) Failed to load module "glide" (a required submodule could not be loaded, 2)<<<<<

I ran slocate -u to rebuild the database after the install, then locate on libglide2
and came up blank. It appears that the library files were not installed.

I downloaded and installed Linux-ix86-glibc22 as directed by:
>>>>>sh Xinstall.sh -check
Checking which OS you're running...
uname reports 'Linux' version '2.2.16-22', architecture 'i686'.
Object format is 'ELF'. libc version is '6.1.94' (6.2).

Binary distribution name is 'Linux-ix86-glibc22'<<<<<

I downloaded the entire directory as a tar file and did a complete install so I think
I got all the toys.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this. Glide is the whole reason for the 4.2.0
upgrade. I want to run Tuxracer.

Thanks for the help.
