Hi, 3.3.6 did have support for i810 chipsets. You may want to follow the i810 howto [1].
Debian 2.2r5 comes with glibc 2.1, if you dont want something messy, point your apt sources to woody and happy apt-get dist-upgrade. :) That will leave you with a glibc 2.2 system.
