Greenzero thank you, I'll check out the Rebel for her. What state are
the 5 parked ones in?

On my bike, it's still not running. I replaced the spark plugs (NGK
D8EA, gap to .026). The bike started immediately ran for 10 seconds
and died. Best I could do then was about 5 seconds of cylinders 3 and
4, only. And that was only with the choke off and the throttle wide
open.

I pulled the plug on cylinder 1 and the smell of gas was strong.
There was also some smoke coming out of the cylinder.

I didn't think to check to see if it was sparking, I'll do that
tonight. Any other suggetions?

Ride safe,
Rick

I agree, a rebel although I just bought a 1982 Suzuki GS650L and that
sits just about as low as the Rebel but with the obvious extra 400
cc - surprisingly light and manageable.

Get her a rebel.... Dont think they make any now other then the
250, but if you can find her a 450 that would be plenty of zip....
I happen to know where to get about 5 of them, but they havent run
in almost 20 years and have sat out in the weather sence... Ran
when parked

I'm facing the same issue with a 82 650 NH. My daughter laid it
down
riding down hill on our gravel driveway. Too much brake as she got
close to the street. We got the bike upright but gas spilled out of
the carborators. After a couple minutes we got it running but
only on
3 cylinders. Eventually it stalled out and will not start again.

I wanted to pull and dry out the spark plugs but none of my sockets
will reach. The bike is new enough to me, that I haven't needed
to do
this before. What have you found that fits? Also, do I have to
pull
the tank to get to the plugs in the middle? The manual call for ND
X24ES-U or NGK D8EA, are there better recomentations 28 years later?

This bike is a little top heavy for my daughter, (plus it's mine) so
we are looking
