There are some threads on here about the K&N and dixie cup mod. If you get
the cone shaped filter you can put a plastic cup (I used a yogurt cup)
upside down inside it. This will shape the air a bit speeding it up without
restricting the flow. I felt a noticeable performance increase at high RPMs
but it was too lean and popping at low RPMs. In the end I ended up having
the carbs re-jetted so the low end would ride smoother. Needless to say my
gas mileage is down in the mid-30s now.
