I know what you mean.  I was going through a bad neighborhood to visit a friend
and I drive my Beetle like the Germans do - not slowing down much for corners.
It wasn't a stock engine anyway and was fast - although I wasn't going to
exceed
the speed limit b/c of the neighborhood.
I got stopped anyway, and the cop made me get out of my car, put me in the back
of his patrol car, and proceeded to inspect my car.  I suppose for drugs.
I was slightly apprehensive, because I knew there were no drugs in it and I did
not give him permission to search, and I did not go willingly into his patrol
car, but I did go because of the nature of the neighborhood, it being a bad
area
of town.
Along came a guy I knew who knew the cop well, and he vouched for me, that I
don't do drugs so he wouldn't find anything.
The cop came back and let me out and couldn't give me a ticket for speeding or
driving wrecklessly, but told me I was driving like someone who just scored.
I told him, man, I always drive like that.  It's the birth mother of the
Porsche
911 and I have it set up to handle better than a stock Beetle.  If you think I
am fast, you ought to see Germans driving Porsches and BMWs.  They don't slow
down for the corners.  I did.  His reply was that he couldn't tell...
You are right, Kim.  male or female, I don't trust them.  And I used to like
this gorgeous gal   with whom I shared a mutual attraction, who became a State
Trooper...

What a waste?

Anyway, here's a good one for you about a blonde cop...

Two Mexicans are on a bicycle about 15 miles outside of Lafayette, Louisiana
when one of the bike's tires goes flat. They start hitching a lift back into
town.

A friendly trucker stops to see if he can help, and the Mexicans ask him for a
ride. He tells them he has no room in the trailer as he is carrying 20,000
bowling balls.

The Mexicans put it to the driver that if they can manage to fit into the back
with their bike will he take them back into town and he agrees.

They manage to squeeze themselves and their bike into the back and the driver
shuts the doors and gets on his way.

By this time he is really late and so puts the hammer down and sure enough, a
blond cop pulls him over for speeding. The lady officer asks the driver what he
is carrying, to which the driver jokingly replies "Mexican eggs."

The Blond Lady Cop  obviously doesn't believe this so wants to take a look in
the trailer. She opens the back door and quickly shuts it and locks it. She
gets
on her radio and calls for immediate backup from as many officers as possible
plus the Swat Team.

The dispatcher asks what emergency she has that require so many officers.

"I've got a Tractor-Trailer stopped with 20,000 Mexican eggs in it. Two have
hatched and they've already managed to steal a bicycle.

I'm sticking with my shrinks' advice. I've been the victim of too many illegal
raids and searches. I have zero trust for cops now. P.S...no, I don't have a
record.

Although I generally agree with you about cops, I have had one or two who were
straight up and decent, and they didn't like most cops either.
One time I was in a group of drivers and one guy sort of in the lead saw a
cop just after someone said everything was clear.   I think he was the one
who said no smokeys.  Anyway, he floors it and takes off, so naturally the cop
goes after him.

A short while later he's back in the group.  Asked if he got bit, he replied in
the negative.  Asked how he got out of it, he explained - he was a cop, showed
his badge, and the guy let him go.  He couldn't see one of us getting a ticket
when he wouldn't, and it didn't slow him down much at all, obviously.
I had a retired cop friend back when I was working on Beetles.  He had me
repair
his GF's Beetle, as she had just lost her dad and had been going to school.  He
wound up marrying her.  She has one or two kids by him, but I haven't seen her
since a few months after my accident in Nov. '01.  I was sorry to see him go.
He was straight up and well respected even among people on the wrong side of
the
law.  If they were going to be arrested for doing wrong, they would prefer Eno
arrest them, even though he was sort of ornery and crusty at times.
There have been a few others, but they are the exception, not the rule.  Here
in
Lafayette, motorcycle cops are the worst "orifices" of all.

My shrink told me that I was to NEVER..EVER date a cop...that includes military
police, parole officers, prison guards, ex-cops (they never really are EX-cops,
are they?) or any person who ever had "officer" attached to their name. He
claims that only one of us would get out alive and his odds were in my favor.
Of
course he didn't really have to tell me this info...I never would go that
direction anyways.

That was the typical behavior of cops in the town I grew up in, except that
they
woke my mom up at 04:30 on a saturday, not 06:45 on a weekday. I wasn't home
(still out from friday night), when she told them I wasn't home they called her
a liar and threatened to arrest HER. What did I do wrong? Oh, it seems I had a
headlight out 6 mos before. A cop had pulled me over and given me a warning,
WARNING written very clearly on the citation. However, when he got back to the
station he entered it as a real ticket and assigned me a court date that I
didn't know about. The warrant was for failure to appear. I could take over
this
forum with stories about the cops in that one tiny TX town of 14,000
people...lets just say I know how that guy feels. I still don't trust cops, not
one bit, got friends who are cops, makes it difficult.
