I realize I got what I pay for, and should be able to get the bike going for not too much money. It is just going to be a good educational experience. This is my first bike I got to learn how to ride on, and I still think it will be good for that. I am also getting a quick lesson in motorcycle mechanics as well. I am fairly mechanical working on cars and my boat, so I don't think working on the motorcycle will be too bad.
The real surprising thing is I am not even the one that wanted to get into motorcycles. My wife came home one day and said I should get a motorcycle so we can go riding with our friends! I didn't argue, a week later I purchased this bike so I could learn to ride. I wanted to get something before she changed her mind. I figure I will learn on this one for a year or so then maybe upgrade to a bigger bike that we would both fit on more comfortably. I never wanted to bring up motorcycles with her because my other hobbies include boating and flying.......neither one very cheap.
