Glad to hear you're issue is resolved and cheaply too! Personally I clean with
Kerosene and lube with a wax type spray. Works like a charm.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Hi! '92 CB750: Rattle on warm engine, Low-RPM,
 Low MPH

At the risk of revealing myself as a total noob, I wanted to thank
Dave for pointing me towards the chain lube solution, my low RPM, low
MPH noise is gone!

I got a grime brush and spent a good long while with some Motorex
Chain Clean / Degreaser and scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. Went
for a quick loop to warm the chain back up, put on a good coat of PJ1
Blue Label chain lube and let her sit overnight.

[Side Question: At the risk of another oil flame war, anyone have
suggestions for cheaper but equally effective chain cleaner and lube?
I've read dozens of articles on this and it seems that it's all mostly
personal preference, but I'm curious to hear specifically what other
Nighthawk owners use regularly...]

Have done another couple hundred miles with no noise!!! Yey!

Guess the chain just needed a good cleaning an I wasn't experienced
enough to identify the source of the noise. A skill I'm working on
learning.

Thanks so much to everyone who wrote -- I've learned so much from this
group in the last couple weeks.

Peace,
  +Lie
