I must say Javier - that was a great link - it describes almost
exactly what I was taught!
        It also brings to light two important points: The bike you're
riding and the conditions you're riding it in are more important than
some fixed percentage of braking effort per wheel.
        For instance - under 5 MPH I locked the rear on that GS-1000 I
purchased. Why? Well, Being as it was the first stop I ever made with
that bike, I wasn't used to it. The disc on the rear works much better
than the drum on my 450. Second I was stopping on a severe amount of
dirt at a stop sign. Thus, it would have been more appropriate to be
on both brakes at 2-5% power than one at 10%. On the other hand - I
locked it and slid for maybe 6 inches. I wasn't worried.
