your better off just adding the battery. The good PV tech is still way to expencive to be justified, and square footage to power anything would be to bulkey to have on the bike..... All this being said, i use my 1000 watt PV cell on the boat constantly, but it was free and i have space for it. So if you have the appropate size panel already, use it! But i wouldent spend any extra money on it...

So my thought was add a second battery and a pair of solar panels - hoping to get a half an amp out of the panels in direct sun. The panels would be of course more to extend the life of the charge than to actually run the fan.
