      The alternator on my 78 Suzuki GS-1000 is rated at 14 amps - the
82 450 Nighthawk I've got has I think an 11 or 12 amp alternator. So
yes, they are  right around 12 amps.
      Somebody - Paul? - has a Goldwing with an aftermarket 30 amp
alternator on it which doesn't sound like much when you think about it
in car terms, but apparently is double what mine has!
