Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Electrical Problem

So I finally got my '82 CB750SC out on the road
today. It was awesome and quite thrilling, however after about two
hours of riding the bike ended up just shutting off on me. It was
definitely because the battery died.
Yesterday, before I got it out on the road, I was
letting it idle for about 30 minutes and it shut off. After a
voltage check it was determined that the battery was dead. This was
strange because the battery is brand new. So I charged it over night,
and before I took it out today I was reading the voltage while keeping
it around 3000 RPM. To my dismay, it was actually dropping but I
decided to take it out anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions on
trouble shooting this problem?
