I ride to church on a bike as much as possible and especially on Sundays. I
take it on my visits, and ride with other pastors to our conventions about
2-3 hour rides. I ride to weddings and keep my suit coat at the church;
however I didn't ride a bike on my wedding day. We had a limo. Gotta work
together right? One day I was carrying my helmet into a nursing home. I
remember the lady saying to me, "I don'tt like demm Tings." Oh well.
That's why I like the ST where I can put away my gear or bring a suit, but I
still ride. When the passion dies I will quit, but I don't see that
happening.

<Soapbox id='Budget'>
Were the happy couple operating on a joint account with a written budget
this situation could have never arisen, propensities towards drama or not.
Agree on the budget before the month begins, then pinky swear not to break
the budget during the month. Regardless of whether or not it can be flipped
tomorrow for $2,000, if the $800 initial purchase isn't already set aside,
it can't happen. Thus nobody is surprised, worried about how to pay the
electric bill, or pissed off. If my "little missus" spent 800 unallocated
dollars I'd be equally hot. If they were previously allocated I would have
no grounds what-so-ever to be upset. If it's a surprise opportunity then
both parties need to come together to reallocate funds. Both deciding that
it's a good idea and which category is going to be $800 short.
</Soapbox>

Thus is the magic of a written budget. As Ron says, working together rather
than against each other. Sorry for ruining all the fun ;)

OK, OK, some marriage counseling is necessary. If you are not working
together you are working apart. Marriage that works is a marriage that is a
giving of yourself to your spouse to make the other happy. When that happens
you find joy in marriage. When two don't care about the others opinions' and
feelings bad things can happen, and certainly not a fulfilling joy filled
marriage. I would rather have one motorcycle and a happy wife, than 10
motorcycles and a sucky marriage. Building respect and trust in my
relationship with my wife, has overcome her fears, and allowed me to buy
motorcycles. If his Harley neighbor took the time to explain it to his
wife, that he was going to make some money on the deal, it could have led to
a wild night with his wife. Just saying.

Nope, even though they are like kids that never grow up.
