Carb synch and pilot screws will probably cure your fast idle problems, but
check this first: is your throttle cable on too tight? When I first put a
new throttle cable on my 750, I tightened it too much and it wouldn't idle
below 1500, plus it would hang on release. Also make sure that your cold
start valves are fully closed and seated.
