A common issue after a carb cleaning. Turn down the idle stop screw.

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Re: 83 CB650 Carb repair

I don't like the new google groups format yet. I finally started my CB650!
I cleaned the carbs a month ago and the bike had not been started since
last October. It started right up but it remained at around 3-4k rpm's.
Something crazy is going on. It won't idle. I messed around with the idle
screw but that didn't do anything. The throttle is kind of sticky too. I
don't think I put the throttle cable back on incorrectly but that's a
possibility. I finally bought the Clymer's manual. It's helpful but I'm not
a huge fan yet. The pictures could be better I think. It's also leaking oil
out of the thingamajig above the oil cap.
Anybody know how to put the air box back on the carbs? That thing is
frustrating. I certainly have a lot of reading and work to do. Carb sync,
pilot screw adjustment....
