You only need 1 outlet. There are plenty of high output dual USB adapters. Make sure as was mentioned earlier they are compatible with your hardware. I bought some recently that had 1 port dedicated for Android and 1 for apple. There apparently is a small difference but I can't tell, all of my devices work in either port. You might want to opt for weather resistant hardware, I have not seen anything like that. In fact that's one of the reasons I have not taken the plunge myself. I'm a bit of a worry wart when it comes to this type of thing and I would be concerned about someone swiping my stuff when I go into convenience store to use the bathroom or have to pull over when it starts to rain to disconnect and stow everything. I use GPS and will stream music from my S4, but it remains safely in my jacket pocket. And I've found for longer trips the mophie juice pack will keep me going for over 12 hours steady streaming.

Blue Sea makes some, 3BR Powersports sells a different style. A search for "12V USB outlet" or similar should turn up a lot of results. If you're going to power multiple devices, make sure you check the rated output for each socket; you're going to need at least a 1A output if your phone screen will be on, otherwise you're just slowing the inevitable discharge. Bigger phones need bigger outputs, of course. Your GPS should have an input requirements sticker somewhere on it, that will tell you how much juice you need for it. -Kurt On Wed, Apr 30, 2014 at 5:53 PM, Javier Garcia <[email protected]> wrote: Kurt, do they make usb outlets that connect directly to the battery? what I have seen so far are usb outlets that connect to the cigarette outlet which connects to the battery (this is in fact the setup I used to have on my cbr). In the cbr forum somebody wrote a how-to to install ubs connectors taken from a computer, but you need to include a resistor and something else (i think) to make it work with the battery. Javier. Have you considered instead getting a dual USB outlet? 12V outlets take a lot of space each, which is at a premium in the handlebar area.
