Just looking out for you, idling a oil cool bike with no air flow is not good 
for that amount of time.  The stator needs the field currant from the battery.  
Also most older bikes need to be above 1500 rpms to charge.  

You can get a cheap volt ohm meter VOM from Walmart or harbor freight.  

What problem are you having to believe you have a charge problem?
