Before you start drilling it out, I just got mine out and it was really rusted in. The new expensive tool didn't help at all. The socket with the extractor on the inside just spun on the outside of the stud. It did bugger it up some more. I had about three quarters of an inch protruding out of the head and I had really made a mess of it with vice grips and whatever all. I lowered the exhausts out of the way, tapped away at the stud with a hammer from as many angles as I could, then took a quarter inch socket and hammered it on. It then screwed out pretty easily using the socket wrench. I then found a bolt the same size as the stud, drilled out the aluminum collar and put everything back together. It all looks good. So, if you have any of the stud left protruding, try a socket you can hammer on to it, Graham
