First select the first message to read; after reading don't close it, just click on the Email List and then open another message. The two can be read side by side if you wish. I cannot define it now, but there is a situation where you cannot open a second message; could be when you are replying to a different message. You do need to be careful about closing messages before you proceed to another filter folder. The Table of Contents gets 'confused' and leaves a bullet against the 'Show .... " item. Sometimes it sticks, too. -- Then your next post mentioned following a thread. Maybe using the ketboard makes this more user friendly. Sort by Subject and then (1) use open the first email by selecting and keying *enter*. (2) Read the message; close it with *enter*; move up/down with *up/down* keys to the next item. I think NE versions before OS 9 allowed you to command-click on a file name to open it from Attachments Received. Try that; it may work. Older versions allowed you to command-click on a URL to go to that site but NE X does not. ===== After using NE since it was first released, I'm starting to get frustrated with its limitations.
