There are some people that have the idea that Nisus Writer Express is
supposed to be a replacement of Classic Nisus Writer. It was never
designed to be that: It is all new, and it is designed to be an
easy to use word processor (not a text editor or a Word killer)
that anyone can use.

Well, we already have two excellent Word Processors which do all this and more, much better: Mellel, for one; and ThinkFree Office, for another. Both do Unicode, and both have table editors etc. etc.

What set Nisus 6 and before apart was:
1. Its ability to do multiple language work. (Mellel now does this better than even the old Nisus did.)

2. Its macro system.

3. Its graphics ability.

4. Its find/replace GREP system and in its 5&6 versions its ability to make a complex find/replace macro semi-automaticaly.

5. Its ability to make booklets.

If none of these features are available in Nisus Express, what value has it? And more important, in what way is it superior to Mellel and ThinkFree Office, both of which are far more reliable than the old Nisus. ThinkFree Pro also has a very good graphics system. Mellel is to have GREP. Neither have a macro system to speak of, or booklet ability...and apparently Nisus Express won't either.
