Short answer is YES.

 

Long answer is the original owner would have to negotiate the proper terms
that the new owners will maintain support for X number of years or months in
the buyout deal. Even then there are no guarantees that the new company will
follow through on this. In the end, the consumer gets the short end of the
stick whenever a company gets bought out.

also having the the obligations to the customers?
