You can set up rules in Outlook for Office XP to run applications based on certain information in the received e-mail.
The application that would run would have to have the ability to launch the return e-mail. Also keep in mind Outlook would have to be running because this is a client side rule. -----Original Message----- From: Jorge Biquez [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 22, 2002 11:03 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Network discovery Hello all. Little off topic questions. I have a client that wants a simple small application that could be controlled by email. We gave him samples of what he could do with a web browser and he insists on having something he could control by email. His point is that when he travels he always could find machines that could send emailes but not always a good machine or connection to navigate . Anyway, he needs to be able to send a basic set of commands to an application and when the application receives a valid command , does some processing and returns the results to an email address (that could be passed as a parameter also.... sound interesting to me. Any ideas on where to look at for this kind of applications?. Any suggestions of tools to use? As always. Thanks in advance for all your help and comments.
