Try Perl..... let it scan the body of the email looking for the specific
words .. the order or sequesnce in which the words are.. or match it to
a particular string.. or match it to numbers and then ... let the email
be scanned ... if an email is recieved that has the specific words
within then it performs a specific action... but dont you think that it
would be too dangerous or say the security implications of such an email
would be disastrous.. if some one knoiws this users email passwords...
or say if some one learns of what actions a specific mail would have ..
and if he can impersonate ans send such a mail... then it would be
disastrous for the client.

Hello all.
Little off topic questions.
I have a client that wants a simple small application that could be
controlled by email. We gave him samples of what he could do with a web
browser and he insists on having something he could control by email.
His
point is that when he travels he always could find machines that could
send
emailes but not always a good machine or connection to navigate .
Anyway,
he needs to be able to send a basic set of commands to an application
and
when the application receives a valid command , does some processing and

returns the results to an email address (that could be passed as a
parameter also.... sound interesting to me. Any ideas on where to look
at
for this kind of applications?. Any suggestions of tools to use?

As always. Thanks in advance for all your help and comments.

JB
