XP can set compatibility mode on a per-application basis. Right-click on the
shortcut, choose "Properties", then look at the "Compatibility" tab.

I haven't had reason to try the NT4 compatibility, but the Win95 mode works
well.

To get windows 2000 into Windows NT 4.0 compatibility mode  you need to run 
Secedit/configure compatws.inf. It seams that this does not work with
Windows XP, 
any idea hot to get Windows XTinto Windows NT 4.0 compatibility mode ?
