Ummm... Net mask of 255.255.255.224 gives you IP addresses from 192.168.1.0
to 192.168.1.31. .0 is unusable and .31 is the networks broadcast address.
That leaves you with the useable address range of 192.168.1.1 thru
192.168.1.30.

If you need more (which it sounds like you do, you will need to change the
subnet mask on the network).

Subject: IP addresses can not be used

I have a network with 31 workstations with a Windows 2k server. IP addresses
are statically assigned - it has a LAN modem that 26 station can use to
access the Internet. Whenever I assign an address above 192.168.1.29 that
station can not see the server or any other network resource. I am using
255.255.255.224 subnet mask - I have verified that the subnet mask is the
same on server and station - assign below 192.168.1.30 and all is well. Any
hints?

Thank you,

Thank you,
