That will give you 252 hosts so that will work for a long time to come in
your case...  255.255.255.192 is probably your best bet

Using a 255.255.255.224 subnet mask will only allow for 30 hosts.  Assuming
you're using one for your default gateway, that leaves 29.  The first and
last addresses are un-usable.

You should use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.192 which will allow you 62
hosts.

I have a network with 31 workstations with a Windows 2k server. IP
addresses
are statically assigned - it has a LAN modem that 26 station can use to
access the Internet. Whenever I assign an address above 192.168.1.29 that
station can not see the server or any other network resource. I am using
255.255.255.224 subnet mask - I have verified that the subnet mask is the
same on server and station - assign below 192.168.1.30 and all is well. Any
hints?
