Could be DNS-related . . . Have you checked for any manual DNS entries on the system that could be messing things up? Again, look in the event viewer for errors or entries that might help you to determine the cause of the problems. My bets right now are on DNS.

This will tell you whether you are dealing with a problem that confined to the laptop or tied to this particular user's network account settings. What happens when you log into the laptop with a different account that works fine on other systems? What service pack are you running on this laptop? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, December 04, 2002 4:59 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Re: Windows 2000 Professional Network Logon Problems i don't know if this is actually profile related because even before i type in the user name it takes ages to connect to the network etc..... aaargh someone give me a gun lol "julian brunt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> om> cc: Sent by: Subject: Re: Windows 2000 Professional Network Logon Problems bounce-nt2000-291860@ls .swynk.com 12/04/02 09:57 AM Please respond to "NT 2000 Discussions" NIC drivers Name Resolution Bad cableing Busy Network etc Unfortunately there are 1000's of possible causes, and I am as uneducated as you in the network dept >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Reply-To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: Windows 2000 Professional Network Logon Problems >Date: Wed, 4 Dec 2002 09:56:38 +0200 > > >i have a feeling it also might be our network because another person >has just complained as to how slow it is this morning i am really >network uneducated, what can cause a network to be slow?
