@ Hans: would it be possible to change the connecting mechanism from .. to -- ?
(Possibly by adding an option?)
draw lmt_function [ shape = "line", ... ] ;
The argument for shape doesn't matter because only 'shape = "contour"'
is checked to use .. as connector.
