SCE 2007 has this ability built in also, but there were only a handful
of other vendors who have built catalogs. Adobe did have one for Reader
but pulled it. Now Intel, HP, Dell and Citrix have catalogs available.

Well...supposedly, SCUP (part of ConfigMgr 2007) is supposed to allow
easy
updating for any non-Microsoft product. Microsoft has opened this up to
any
vendor but only a few have taken part in it. All the vendor has to do
is
create a catalog file and their updates can be included to be
distributed
using the same methods as Windows Updates. Adobe knows about this as
they
once had Reader as a catalog file.

Presumably you'd be able to patch Silverlight via WSUS and/or SCCM.

That's got to be a bunch easier than patching Flash

Cheers

Well, poo-poo on you.

Installing flash = pita. Upgrading flash for security issues = huge
pita. Thinking about having to do this for another product that I
dont really "need" = pimb.
