I thought so, I did toss it up in a VM once and install it but I didn't see
much of the telephony setup, it was right when it came out, and from the
marketing I was under the impression that it did it all, but after it was
installed and I poked around I don't know why it looked more like an addon.
We run freepbx right now and it works fine, all sip/voip but would like to
check this out again.. thanks

Yes, you did. "Lync Enterprise Voice" is a software-based PBX. Lots of folks
manufacture hardware interfaces for POTS, PRI, FXS, etc.

I've seen them at quite a few customers and ranked well in telephony
assessments.

 

If you're replacing your PBX and you're a Windows shop, I'd strongly suggest
looking at Lync.
