Ben,

1. I have stated my robocopy and xcopy commands in another reply.

2. Yes, I know robocopy is so much better. I used Xcopy after a long time and
followed MS KB 323007 for switches so NTFS permissions of various folders could
be copied.
(Robocopy did not give option to select a subset of folders by name; I was
hoping Xcopy would allow folder-name-selection by wild cards.)

3. Yes, I was running from an elevated command prompt (UAC).

4. Error message on running Xcopy - "Access denied" to destination directory.

5. I try to view drives from Windows Explorer. (I wish I could attach a
screen-shot!) For C: and D: drives, now there are only names without the
horizontal bars showing full size & free size. I can see first tab of property
pages where both drive show size of 0 MB. For mapped drive, the proper bar is
there. Of course I cannot open disk mgmt as any MMC is inaccessible.

6. You guess seems correct that drive permissions got copied from
another computer to the local computer. How do I reset them. Thanks.

Thanks.

Jay
