If I’m not mistaken, the problem with exporting to a PST file first, is that
all e-mail in the exported PST would be imported again. Effectively ending
up with 2 copies of each message.

I will test this to be sure.

You may use many tools like OST2PST or Office recovery, but why not saving
the content to a PST file before ?

Oggetto: Use Outlook 2003 OST file in Outlook 2007

Hello,

We are going to perform a new PC rollout in our company (± 450 users, 4
sites). Currently we are using Outlook 2003 with OST files, and we are going
to migrate to Outlook 2007.

We are going to do an installation from scratch (new PCs). The problem we
have is, that our Exchange servers (located at head quarters) are connnected
through slow 2mbit WANs. So even if we only do a couple of migrations a day,
per site, this would easily saturate the WAN connections.

Is it possible to reuse the Outlook 2003 OST file in Outlook 2007, without
performing an in-place upgrade ?

With best regards,

Jelle
