Yeah, but I could see the mapi32.dll source, which would be very helpful.

Hi,

Exchange source is not required to get this working, so it wouldn't have
helped anyway :-)

But "yes" - there are lots of partners that license Windows source via
"Shared Source" (as can MVPs). I suspect that this is partly due to
anti-trust. And also partly for interop reasons - I think the infamous Win2k
leak was from Mainsoft IIRC

Cheers

Ken

If you could get source to Exchange and it fell into the wrong hands, those
hands could be even better than they are now at writing Exchange-compatible
servers that run under Linux ...

Windows source is probably more accessible thanks to antitrust actions.

It really gripes me that I can get source access to the operating system,
but not to Exchange.

Just WHAT is that about?

Grrrr. I could investigate these things for myself!

Thanks Carl, I'm quite interested.

I'll let you know of any untoward behavior... at the moment it's working
beautifully (Vista/OL2K7).

I'm really shocked that this works.

My understanding (for years) has been that the MAPI library is
single-threaded

Have you used this Ken?

Are you looking for the "extraOutlook" tool?

Can anyone remind me where I read about how to run multiple Outlook sessions
(against different profiles) in the same Windows session. It was a blog
about something else that ended up explaining how to fool Outlook into
starting a second instance of itself and it was an elegantly simple hack.
Can't believe I lost it and my googlefu has let me down...

thanks,

Carl
