Sure they did. A server licensed for Datacenter Edition can run any number
of Standard, Enterprise or Datacenter edition vm's.
Given that you probably wont the capabilities for Enterprise Edition in a vm
during the lifetime of dpm 2007, there's no reason to run DataCenter there.
(That I can think of, please educate me. :)
