Okay, I'm trying ESXi 4.0... and it seems to work well. But it has me use the vSphere client... which is A) a bit slow and B) not free! Instead, It's a 60 day evaluation... and I don't see what happens after the end of that evaluation. I suspect it stops working.
So I made a quick phone call to VMWare, and asked them if there was a free client for ESXi (like there was for 3.5)... Nope. vSphere client is it. So I went to VMWare's website, and couldn't find any price for vSphere client. I couldn't find one for the client at CDW either. There were prices for vSphere... but not just the client. So am I wrong, or is this a bait and switch? Is there a cost for just the client? Anybody know what the retail cost is? We effectively have a zero budget, so paid solutions will be looked at second. *grumble* Going to try XenServer 5.5 next... *grumble* --Matt Ross Ephrata School District ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
