If we get a "my machine was slow yesterday", there's nothing more we can 
check other than what you mentioned.

If someone says "my computer just slowed to a hault", then we can go check 
the TaskMangler to see what is hogging CPU and then hogging memory.

In our case, the causes are usually:

rogue MSIExec process

Lotus Sametime

Mozilla Firefox (can start a memory leak, especially if the user rarely 
closes apps and logs off)
