Every SBS site I manage has two servers just to offload some of that (that, and 
have redundant DC's). In some cases the "server" is a desktop, but it keeps 
that much less activity off the SBS server. AV and WSUS, that's what an older 
desktop is good for :-).

I think some of the issues have to do with smaller installations.  We 
have several clients that install the A/V server software on an SBS 
server...and Trend can bog it down with the smart scan features enabled.
